Wiener Dog Rescue Blog

I’ve got a smile on my face because the picnic is just around the corner.  I get to see all my wiener friends.  Its a great time.  I just hope Mom doesn’t dress me up!!!  I’m not a ‘girlie dog’.

Friday Mom came home with (another) dog.  Just babysitting for the weekend (I’ve heard that before).  His name is Satchel.  Well, I had to pull the ‘Lucy’ Diva act just to let him know when he stands in our household.  But he is one cool dude.  He loves all my other ‘brother’s’ and I like him too.  He just kind of fit in with the group.  He even likes Dad (go figure).  He’s smart and will give paw’s and sit.  He even shares his “blankie” with me and Ollie.  I hope he finds a forever home soon.  He is One Cool Dog!!!!

Yahoo!! The weather is great. That means our Picnic is just around the corner. I’m looking forward to seeing all my ‘wiener’ friends.

Hey, it’s me, Daisy.

So I’m out of surgery.  A BIG thank you goes to Dr. John! 

I has 2 screws in my leg to to hold it in place while it heals.  Apparently the break had already started to heal (they think it was about a month old), but it was healing all wonky.  So it’s a good thing that I had the surgery. 

Right now I get 2 weeks of crate rest and antibiotics and pain meds.  I’m going to be a walking pharmacy!

Dr. John couldn’t spay me just yet because I’m in full heat and my leg surgery took longer than expected.

This is me all snug-as-a-bug-in-a-rug feelin nice and toasty!

Woohoo!

Social CDR here we come!

A big “HI” goes to my foster Mommy Kathleen, CDR and the CDR blog followers!

I’m Daisy.  I was found by some nice people at the animal shelter and they called CDR.  Now I’m safe and going to be looked after.  I’m so happy!  I’m still in quite a bit of pain from my broken leg but I get to see the doctor on Monday.  Hopefully doc can make me feel better.

It was scary but I’m moving on from that.  I don’t want to hold on to the past now that I have a future.

The Helping Homeless Pets Spring Auction has been post-poned until further notice.  Woof! This is disappointing!  Something to do with the auction site.

Miss Meggie Megalicious wants to speak!  So everybody listen to meeee!

I want to tell you about Daisy. 

Today CDR was approached by a shelter about a 2 year old black and tan female who has a broken femur.  This poor little girl was found as a stray and was in a lot of pain. 

CDR immediately sprang into action and her new foster mom, Kathleen, is getting her from the animal shelter as we speak.  I too was a stray and know how scary it can be in there.

This lovely little lady is now named Daisy.  I think it’s a perfect name for such a sweet little dog.  Because of her broken femur, she needs orthapedic surgery.  Her appointment is schduled for Monday and this weekend she’s going to be loved and babied with her foster mommy.  You all know how much we doxies love to be loved!

We’re going to be blogging about her journey and hope that you will follow along.  You’ll get to hear from Daisy herself!
