Daisy saying Hi!

A big “HI” goes to my foster Mommy Kathleen, CDR and the CDR blog followers!

I’m Daisy.  I was found by some nice people at the animal shelter and they called CDR.  Now I’m safe and going to be looked after.  I’m so happy!  I’m still in quite a bit of pain from my broken leg but I get to see the doctor on Monday.  Hopefully doc can make me feel better.

It was scary but I’m moving on from that.  I don’t want to hold on to the past now that I have a future.

Here’s a picture of me!  Heeheehee…I’m a bit curly, but I think I’m cute!

Me resting before I go and see the doctor!

I’ll wirte another blog post soon.  If I’m too tired or sore, my new friend Miss Meggie Megalicious will update all you lovely doggies and people for me!

Who are you calling old?

Henry here. Well, after being on the run for two weeks, caught by animal control, surgery on my neck, and two months in a pound, I’m finally getting the love I need. I went to see the doctor yesterday and this week I have to have my pearly whites cleaned and I’m sure I’ll lose some of the ones that hurt.

So… the pound said I was around 8. The doctor I saw thinks I’m closer to 12.

What’s with you humans and age. My tail is still wagging. ALL the time. I have so much love to give and hold no grudges. I’d be a great addition to any home. Plus, I’m a cute and tiny guy and you won’t be able to resist scooping me up and smooching me.

It’s better to have loved and lost, they say…

If you squint, maybe it looks a little like a dachshund

Sometimes we get calls from shelters about dachshund mixes. Sometimes they are dachshund mixes, sometimes they are this guy. If we can, we try to save them. So… what do you think he is – aside from hungry? He was found as a stray and never claimed. Humans.

Update: His name is Chance and thanks to CDR’s amazing fosters, he’ll be joining the rescue this weekend!!!

Woofstock!

Why have one Doogle when you can have two weenie ladies?

Two best friends Bella & Chloe are looking for a home together.  They sleep together, eat together and cute up any room together.  Kinda like Bert and Ernie only more shiny.

Doogle here-

No more marbles, healthy shiny skin and my big heart means I am ready to find a forever home, forever and ever!

Do you know anybody who wants a sweet wiener puppy? I would love a fur brother or sister to play with and snuggle.  I am a Dachshund so my house training isn’t perfect but I am getting better and want so badly to please my humans.

I have my paws crossed that I will find as much love and care that my foster parents have given me and I make CDR proud!

Will YOU love me?

Update on the Mamas (Bella and Chloe)

May 13, 2010 at 7:07 am • Posted in Foster dogs6 Comments

The humans taking care of our newest ladies to join Club CDR gave us an update on how they are doing:

Bella and Chloe are doing very well!  Both recovering nicely from their spays and other minor ailments. They are so, so happy to have two foster parents who love them – we don’t think they’ve ever had that before!

The girls are attached at the hip. Bella is the older (and smarter) one, and Chloe will follow her anywhere. The vet estimated them to be roughly 5 and 10 years old, and these two play like puppies but sleep like retirees! They must be adopted together because it would break their hearts to be apart.

They came to us un-house trained, but are getting better by the day. Bella already understands that she needs to go outside, and Chloe will eventually follow Bella’s lead, as she does in every other way.

Bella and Chloe have been walking Queen Street East in Leslieville for a week now. If they had a sign on them saying “adopt me” they would already be in their permanent loving home.

Shakin' that wiener maker!

Best friends and sisters and all round adorable!

Feel Better Frankie!!

I like this guy, he makes me feel svelte and slim. Quincy is new to the rescue. I heard the people say something about a diet…

Even I’m at a loss for words

Shanie

Giving people a second chance

Meet Shanie. He’s a minpin or chihuahua mix. He’s only 10 months old and I give him permission to bite anyone he wants, though he doesn’t want to bite anyone. His people couldn’t housetrain him so … get this… they were going to shoot him. With a gun. Fortunately a good person intervened and he was surrendered to a shelter and passed to CDR.

Shanie will be neutered this week and will go to a home on our waiting list when he is ready. So far he hasn’t even had any accidents. He’s understandably a little nervous but I think with some loving he’ll be fine.

What is with humans?
