Back to business
As a dachshund, it’s hard to remember that it’s not always about me. It is contrary to all my instincts to consider others but this is what I have to do for the rescue. I can’t promise to keep my rants to myself all the time, but I’ll remember that this is a rescue blog first and my own soapbox second. K has changed her password, and we don’t expect any more interruptions.
I want you to meet one of the foster dogs, Chloe. She came from a shelter in Quinte and was skin and bones when she arrived. She also had a nasty case of kennel cough, and she has a heart murmur. She has stopped coughing and her murmur is not so bad that it’ll prevent her from being spayed.
Chloe has potential adopters so you won’t see her on the site, but I wanted to remind you what we’re all here for and where the donations go. It has been quiet, but there are three new dogs entering the rescue as soon as transport can be arranged, and the busy season is coming. Over the past 10 years, I’ve learned about the flow of dogs and when the weather gets nice and people start thinking about vacations, the rescue gets busy.
I’m glad this one has a home because I know the people here have a soft spot for dappled girls!
